HOW BAIL BONDS WORK IN WILSHIRE
LEAVE US A MESSAGE!
Anyone that is arrested in the city of Wilshire will most likely be taken to the Wilshire Police Department, which is located at 4861 West Venice Los Angeles, CA 90019. At the Police Department, the arrestee will have to go through the booking process in order for the jail to identify who the person is and to process all of his or her charges.
When the arrestee arrives at the jail, all of his or her personal belongings will be documented and put away for safekeeping for the remainder of the time that the inmate remains in jail. After that has been completed, the jailer, which is the person who handles and documents all of the inmates in the jail, will call over the defendant and gather all of his or her information to identify the inmate. When the jailer has finished with that part of the booking process, he or she will send the arrestee to have his or her fingerprints scanned via a machine called LiveScan. The purpose of scanning an inmate’s fingerprints is to determine whether or not he or she has any outstanding warrants or is wanted by any other agency for whatever reason.
This machine is directly connected to the Department of Justice and the fingerprints are sent to them and they will run them through their databases and send the results back to the jailer. The jailer at the Police Department will not be able to clear any inmate for bail until he or she has received the results from the fingerprint scan. This process is usually what could make the entire booking process take hours depending on how busy the jail is and when they receive the results. Since the jailer cannot clear any inmate for bail until he or she has received the fingerprint scan results, then no bail bondsman can bail out any inmate until the jailer clears the inmate for bail.
While our bail bondsman waits for the inmate to be cleared, he or she will contact you with a time and place for you two to meet so that you could fill out all of the necessary paperwork needed to complete the bail bonds process. When all of the paperwork has been filled out and the defendant is cleared for bail, our expert agent at Wilshire Bail Bonds will go to the jail and turn the bond in immediately to ensure that the inmate is released from jail in the shortest amount of time possible.
Once the inmate is released from jail, he or she will have to sign some paperwork to complete the bail bond. After all of that is completed, our agent will hand one of you an official bail bonds receipt, which will contain all of the defendant’s charges and court information. It is very important that you do not lose this piece of paper and that the defendant shows up to all of his or her court dates until the case is resolved.
